This ignition switch is for the Leyland mini and moke. This ignition switch is for the single stalk steering column. This was fitted on almost all leyland minis from about 1974 onwards and mokes up until the introduction of the dual stalk setup (around 1980).

Mini high-torque pre-engaged starter (fitted on rover minis from 1985 on) - GXE4527

GXE4527-High-torque pre-engaged starter

This new modern high-torque pre-engaged starter is used on all Minis 1985-on. May be used in earlier engines if the flywheel ring gear is turned the other way round or ideally replaced with the correct ring gear PSF10003 which has 129 square section teeth. Just be aware that if you are running a oil cooler the starter solenoid could hit it
