Brand new Inertia starter with the correct 9 tooth pinion for all minis up to the fitment of the pre engaged type in 1984/5. Do not fit the 10 tooth starter sold by many as it can ruin the ringear or the bendix. Other leyland cars used 10 teeth such as Sprite, Spitfire and Mini Metro and often get fitted ass they are cheaper but 9 teeth is rarer to buy but is ment for Mini 107 teeth ringears. Brand new units these are sold on an outright basis without having to return your old unit.

Mini high-torque pre-engaged starter (fitted on rover minis from 1985 on) - GXE4527

GXE4527-High-torque pre-engaged starter

This new modern high-torque pre-engaged starter is used on all Minis 1985-on. May be used in earlier engines if the flywheel ring gear is turned the other way round or ideally replaced with the correct ring gear PSF10003 which has 129 square section teeth. Just be aware that if you are running a oil cooler the starter solenoid could hit it
